Le designer

Ludovica + Roberto Palomba

Fondé en 1994 · Studio italien

Ludovica Serafini et Roberto Palomba fondent en 1994 leur studio à Milan, qui mène de front architecture, intérieurs, design produit et direction artistique pour des éditeurs italiens. La boutique réunit leurs pièces pour Kartell, comme le miroir All Saints et la chaise HiRay, ainsi que des modèles Zanotta et Driade.

La maison

Kartell

Kartell est fondée en 1949 par Giulio Castelli et fabrique d'abord des accessoires automobiles. La maison fait entrer le plastique dans l'intérieur domestique et rend les objets du quotidien pratiques et colorés, notamment grâce au travail de l'architecte et designer Anna Castelli Ferrieri. En 1988, Claudio Luti, gendre du fondateur, reprend l'entreprise et fait appel à Philippe Starck, auteur de la chaise Louis Ghost, Ron Arad, Antonio Citterio, Patricia Urquiola ou Mario Bellini. Kartell indique avoir été, en 1999, la première entreprise au monde à produire du mobilier en polycarbonate. Son siège est à Noviglio, près de Milan.
