A steel rod set into a marble base, with a cone at the top that pivots on its axis to direct light toward an armchair, a wall, or the ceiling. Anastassiades has reduced the reading floor lamp to three elements, with no visible joints or apparent counterweights. The marble does all the balancing work.

Le designer

Michael Anastassiades
