Philippe Starck designed this floor lamp in 1994 for the reading rooms of the National Library of France. The specifications were those of a workspace: abundant, directed light, without glare for the reader. The articulated stem allows the diffuser to be aimed exactly where needed, and the counterweight does the rest.

Le designer

Philippe Starck
