This iconic armchair marked the beginning of the collaboration between the talented designer and Driade in 1984, propelling him to the pinnacle of the design world. With its sleek design, an enveloping wooden shell, and three metal legs, the Costes armchair immediately established itself as a 20th-century design icon, sold in the millions, copied many times, and present in all contemporary design collections.
This model is now available in two versions: the original with a mahogany shell, and this 2006 newcomer in ebony. Each features a polyurethane foam seat cushion upholstered in black leather and a black tubular steel base.

Philippe Starck est un designer français né en 1949. Il a dessiné aussi bien du mobilier que des hôtels, des yachts ou des brosses à dents, avec une constante : donner à des objets du quotidien une présence et une intelligence d'usage qui dépassent leur fonction. Il travaille avec Flos depuis les années 1990.
