ToiletPaper Shit Tray

Toiletpaper melamine trays all share the same format: a 32 x 43.5 cm rectangle, 2 cm high overall, featuring a design taken from the magazine. The rectangle is sharp and the height very low: it is closer to a serving board than a deep tray, and the format is similar to that of a large placemat, which gives a fairly accurate idea of the space it takes up once placed.

From one reference to another, nothing changes except the image: same material, same format, same price. This allows several to be combined without unbalancing the table, each one keeping its own subject. The design is what gives the reference its name in the catalog, and it remains the only variable in the series: the melamine, the 32 x 43.5 cm rectangle, and the 2 cm height do not change from one piece to the next.

Seletti presents these trays as reception pieces, to be brought out for serving. Melamine is the only material announced: it is neither porcelain nor wood, and the object is read first and foremost as a printed image that is passed around.
