The Woods Gallery has partnered with Eté 1981 for the exclusive release of a line of wallpapers with hedonistic and lush patterns.
Very easy to install, available in drops 2.50 m high x 50 cm wide
How to install it?
1/ Prepare the glue and the drops
Mix the glue in the bucket: it is essential to let it rest, or even prepare it the day before.
Choose a standard wallpaper paste.
During gluing and installation, keep a bucket of clean water and a sponge within reach to remove traces of glue, clean the wallpaper seam roller, or wash your hands.
2/ Measure the wall height to cut the drop to the correct dimensions.
If you order one drop: you will be sent one drop 2.50 m high x 50 cm wide.
If you order several drops: they will be sent to you in a single roll.
Cut the drop with scissors.
It can also be cut with a utility knife and a ruler.
It is best to cut the drops as you go rather than all at once to avoid mistakes.
To find your marks easily, take measurements with your tape measure and make notes with a pencil on the wall. Delphine Cauly's wallpapers have been specially designed so that the patterns are easy to align.
3/ Apply the glue
Place the drops on a table, patterns facing down.
To prepare the glue, follow the manufacturer's instructions to obtain the right consistency. Let the glue rest for about 10 minutes before using it.
Using a brush, apply glue to a good half of the drop, from the center towards the edges. Focus on the edges. Fold the glued part onto itself without creasing the fold.
Then do the same for the other half of the drop, from the center towards the edges.
Let the drop soak for 5 to 10 minutes.
4/ Install the drops
Place the first drop at the top of the wall by aligning it with the vertical guide mark.
Let the wallpaper overlap the ceiling by about 2.5 cm.
Then unfold the drop down to the baseboard at the bottom.
Check the positioning of the drop, adjust if necessary, then smooth it out.
5/ Cut the edges
Use a wide spatula and a utility knife to cut off the excess wallpaper at the top and bottom.
Position the smoothing spatula perpendicular to the paper and cut with the utility knife. Then wipe off any excess glue with a sponge.
6/ Install the other drops
Repeat the operation, making sure to align the patterns carefully.
Good to know:
Prepare the wall before hanging wallpaper:
- Remove old wall coverings before hanging wallpaper: you must start by stripping it off.
If it is paint, you can hang the wallpaper directly after washing and sanding your wall.
- Wallpaper installation requires smooth and, above all, clean walls.
Wash the walls to remove all traces of glue and other wallpaper residue.
Painted walls: wash with special wall detergent then rinse.
On glossy and satin paint, sand with sandpaper so that the glue can stick.
New or porous walls: apply a primer for plaster or a pre-gluing agent 24 hours in advance. This protects the wall and allows the wallpaper to be removed later without damaging the wall.
- Fill holes and cracks before hanging wallpaper
Once the walls are clean and dry, fill all holes and other cracks with a special filler.
After drying, simply sand the walls to flatten the surface. Do not forget to dust everything off.
- Remove sockets and switches before hanging wallpaper
After properly turning off the electricity, remove the socket covers and other switches located on the part of the wall to be papered.
