The Woods Gallery has partnered with Eté 1981 for the exclusive release of a collection of wallpapers featuring hedonistic and lush patterns.
Very easy to hang, available in panels 2.50 m high x 50 cm wide
How to hang it?
1/ Prepare the glue and the panels
Mix the glue in the bucket: it is essential to let it sit, or even prepare it the day before.
Choose a standard wallpaper paste.
While pasting and hanging, keep a bucket of clean water and a sponge within reach to remove any glue residue, clean your wallpaper roller, or wash your hands.
2/ Measure the wall height to cut the panel to the correct dimensions.
If you order one panel: you will be sent a panel 2.50m high x 50 cm wide.
If you order several panels: they will be sent to you in a single roll.
Cut the panel with scissors.
You can also cut it using a utility knife and a ruler.
It is best to cut the panels as you go rather than all at once to avoid mistakes.
To find your bearings easily, take measurements with your tape measure and make pencil marks on the wall. Delphine Cauly's wallpapers have been specially designed so that the patterns are easy to align.
3/ Apply the glue
Lay the panels on a table, pattern side down.
To prepare the glue, follow the manufacturer's instructions to obtain the right consistency. Let the glue rest for about 10 minutes before using it.
Using a brush, apply glue to a good half of the panel, from the center towards the edges. Pay extra attention to the edges. Fold the glued part onto itself without creasing the fold.
Do the same for the other half of the panel, from the center towards the edges.
Let the panel soak for 5 to 10 minutes.
4/ Hang the panels
Place the first panel at the top of the wall, aligning it with your vertical guideline.
Let the wallpaper overlap the ceiling by about 2.5 cm.
Then unfold the panel down to the baseboard.
Check the position of the panel, adjust if necessary, then smooth it out.
5/ Trim the edges
Use a wide smoothing tool and a utility knife to cut the excess wallpaper at the top and bottom.
Position the smoothing tool perpendicular to the paper and cut with the utility knife. Then wipe away any excess glue with a sponge.
6/ Hang the remaining panels
Repeat the process, making sure to align the patterns carefully.
Good to know:
Prepare the wall before hanging wallpaper:
- Remove old wall coverings to hang wallpaper: you must start by stripping it off.
If it is paint, you can apply the wallpaper directly after washing and sanding your wall.
- Hanging wallpaper requires smooth and, above all, clean walls.
Wash the walls to remove all traces of glue and other wallpaper residue.
Painted walls: wash with a special wall cleaner then rinse.
On glossy or satin paint, sand with sandpaper so the glue can adhere.
New or porous walls: apply a primer for plaster or wallpaper sizing 24 hours in advance. This protects the wall and allows the wallpaper to be removed later without damaging the wall.
-Fill holes and cracks before hanging wallpaper
Once the walls are clean and dry, fill all holes and cracks with a special filler.
After drying, simply sand the walls to smooth the surface. Don't forget to remove all dust.
-Remove sockets and switches before hanging wallpaper
After switching off the electricity, remove the covers of sockets and switches located on the part of the wall to be papered.
