The Woods Gallery has partnered with Eté 1981 for the exclusive release of a collection of wallpaper featuring hedonistic and lush patterns.
Very easy to install, available in drops 2.50 m high x 50 cm wide
How to install it?
1/ Prepare the adhesive and the drops
Mix the adhesive in the bucket: it is essential to let it sit, or even prepare it the day before.
Choose a standard wallpaper adhesive.
During pasting and installation, keep a bucket of clean water and a sponge within reach to remove any traces of adhesive, clean the seam roller, or wash your hands.
2/ Then measure the height of the wall to cut the drop to the right dimensions.
If you order one drop: you will be sent a single drop 2.50m high x 50 cm wide.
If you order several drops: they will be sent to you in a single roll.
Cut the drop with scissors.
It can also be cut with a utility knife and a ruler.
It is best to cut the drops one by one rather than all at once to avoid mistakes.
To guide yourself easily, take measurements with your tape measure and make marks on the wall with a pencil. Delphine Cauly's wallpapers have been specially designed so that the patterns are easy to align.
3/ Pasting
Place the drops on a table, pattern side down.
To prepare the adhesive, follow the manufacturer's instructions to obtain the right consistency. Let the adhesive sit for about 10 minutes before using it.
Using a brush, apply adhesive to a good half of the drop, from the center towards the edges. Pay close attention to the edges. Fold the pasted part over onto itself without flattening the fold.
Then do the same for the other half of the drop, from the center towards the edges.
Let the drop soak for 5 to 10 minutes.
4/ Installing the drops
Place the first drop at the top of the wall, aligning it with your vertical mark.
Let the wallpaper overlap by about 2.5 cm at the ceiling.
Then unfold the drop down to the baseboard.
Check the positioning of the drop, adjust if necessary, then smooth it out.
5/ Trimming the edges
Use a wide spatula and a utility knife to cut the excess wallpaper at the top and bottom.
Position the smoothing spatula perpendicularly to the paper and cut with the utility knife. Then wipe off any excess adhesive with a sponge.
6/ Installing the other drops
Repeat the operation, making sure to align the patterns carefully.
Good to know:
Preparing the wall before hanging wallpaper:
- Remove old wall coverings before hanging wallpaper: you must start by stripping it off.
If it is painted, you can hang the wallpaper directly after washing and sanding your wall.
- Installing wallpaper requires smooth and, above all, clean walls.
Wash the walls to remove all traces of adhesive and other wallpaper remnants.
Painted walls: wash with a special wall cleaner and then rinse.
On glossy or satin paint, sand with sandpaper so that the adhesive can hold.
New or porous walls: apply a plaster primer or sizing 24 hours in advance. This protects the wall and allows the wallpaper to be removed later without damaging the wall.
- Fill holes and cracks before hanging wallpaper
Once the walls are clean and dry, fill all holes and other cracks with a special filler.
After drying, simply sand the walls to level the surface. Don't forget to dust everything off.
- Remove sockets and switches before hanging wallpaper
After ensuring the electricity is turned off, remove the socket covers and other switches located on the part of the wall to be papered.
