The webbed seat is woven by hand, strand by strand. The &Tradition technical data sheet specifies the exact composition: natural linen and polypropylene. Marketing language often mentions only "hand-woven linen fibers" and omits the polypropylene; we prefer to provide you with the actual material. It is this blend that explains the durability of a flexible seat, where linen alone would stretch out over time. Two colors are available: natural, and stained black: the latter is reserved for the black lacquered ash structure.

Jakob Thau et Sami Kallio, formés comme ébénistes puis à l'Académie royale des beaux-arts de Copenhague, forment un duo scandinave attaché au bois et aux techniques artisanales. La boutique propose leur famille Betty pour &Tradition, chaises, bancs, fauteuil et tabourets, inspirée du théâtre Betty Nansen.
La maison
&Tradition
&Tradition est un éditeur danois fondé à Copenhague en 2010 par Martin Kornbek Hansen. Son catalogue suit deux lignes : la réédition de classiques du design danois et des créations contemporaines. Côté patrimoine, la maison édite la suspension Flowerpot dessinée par Verner Panton en 1968, le fauteuil Little Petra conçu par Viggo Boesen dans les années 1930, ainsi que des pièces d'Arne Jacobsen et de Jørn Utzon. Côté création, elle travaille notamment avec Space Copenhagen, auteur du canapé Fly, Jaime Hayon et Luca Nichetto.
