Industry Chair from the Studio Job Collection

The Industry Collection adopts the silhouette of Victorian garden furniture—openwork backrests, cabriole legs, molded-edge tabletops—and casts it in aluminum. The metal is then finished with a matte lacquer in black, white, or sky blue, three shades that replace the green cast iron of English gardens. Aluminum remains lightweight: a chair can be moved with one hand, which the original cast iron does not allow. Seletti intends the collection for outdoor and contract use, meaning it is also suitable for café terraces. Pieces arrive disassembled and are bolted together upon delivery. The range includes two seating options, a chair and an armchair, and three tabletops: a 70 cm round, a 70 cm square, and a 152 cm oval.

A Victorian lounge gone pop

Studio Job describes the collection as “the romantic and timeless shapes of a classic Victorian garden set” rendered “crazy and colorful.” The process is characteristic of the entire studio: taking an inherited form without modifying it, and shifting its narrative through material and color. The finish is a matte, heat-applied epoxy powder that withstands moisture better than paint.
