Consisting of three powder-coated steel tubes interconnected in a three-dimensional way, the tubes are securely "knitted" together to support each other and create the strength of the body. Inspired by the tactile experience of touching materials and experimental processes of bending and knitting ropes and metal rods, Knit was developed as an extension of HAY's coat rack and wardrobe options in a flat-pack, easy-to-assemble design. Featuring a glossy finish that creates a lustrous effect, Knit can be used to add functionality and visual interest to hallways, bedrooms, and other private or public spaces.

Jin Kuramoto
Jin Kuramoto est un designer japonais diplômé en 1999 du Kanazawa College of Art. Il fonde son studio à Tokyo en 2008 et travaille depuis sur le mobilier, l'électronique domestique, l'automobile et les objets du quotidien, pour des clients comme Arflex Japan, Toyota, Nikon ou Sony. Son approche accorde une grande place aux essais répétés et à la sensation des matériaux. Pour HAY, il a dessiné le portemanteau Knit.
La maison
Hay
HAY est un éditeur de design danois fondé à Copenhague en 2002 par Rolf et Mette Hay. Les deux fondateurs en assurent toujours la direction artistique, Rolf pour le mobilier, Mette pour les accessoires. La maison travaille avec des designers contemporains comme Ronan et Erwan Bouroullec, auteurs de la collection d'extérieur Palissade, Stefan Diez, Hee Welling, créateur de la série About A Chair, ou Louise Campbell, dont la Prince Chair de 2002 est entrée au MoMA. Depuis 2019, l'américain Herman Miller, aujourd'hui MillerKnoll, en est l'actionnaire majoritaire.
