Fuji reinvents the classic concept of the vanity table. Equipped with two mirrors, one fixed and one mobile, reminiscent of ping-pong paddles, Fuji offers a new interpretation of functionality through a bold and modern aesthetic.

Constructed from lacquered and screen-printed wood, the Fuji vanity table is not only visually captivating but also highly functional. The neon colors integrated into the design catch the eye and define the surrounding space, adding energy and character to any interior.

Le designer

Arata Isozaki

Arata Isozaki (1931-2022), né à Ōita, au Japon, est diplômé d'architecture de l'université de Tokyo en 1954. Élève puis collaborateur de Kenzo Tange, il fonde en 1963 son agence, Arata Isozaki & Associates. Refusant de s'enfermer dans un style, il conçoit chaque bâtiment comme une réponse à son contexte : la bibliothèque préfectorale d'Ōita, le Museum of Contemporary Art de Los Angeles, le Palau Sant Jordi de Barcelone ou la tour Allianz à Milan. Il reçoit la Royal Gold Medal du RIBA en 1986 et le prix Pritzker en 2019. Pour Memphis, il dessine la coiffeuse Fuji, rééditée en édition limitée par Memphis Milano.

La maison

Memphis Milano

Memphis naît à Milan le soir du 11 décembre 1980, chez Ettore Sottsass, entouré notamment de Michele De Lucchi, Aldo Cibic, Matteo Thun, Marco Zanini et Martine Bedin. Le nom vient d'une chanson de Bob Dylan, Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again, qui passait ce soir-là. La première collection, 55 objets, est présentée le 18 septembre 1981 à la galerie Arc '74, avec les bibliothèques Carlton et Casablanca de Sottsass et la Super Lamp de Martine Bedin. Le groupe se dissout en 1988, et la société Memphis poursuit aujourd'hui l'édition de ces pièces depuis La Morra.
