The name comes from neoteny, the biological trait where species retain juvenile characteristics into adulthood: this is exactly what the lamp does, with the rounded shapes of a childhood object.

Jumbo
Jumbo est un studio de design fondé par deux amis de longue date, Justin Donnelly et Monling Lee. Directeur de la création, Justin Donnelly est diplômé de Stanford et a étudié l'architecture à Columbia ; directrice artistique, Monling Lee a exercé comme architecte et urbaniste avant de cofonder le studio. Leur travail se concentre sur les formes, les matières et les couleurs qui réjouissent.
