The heart of this lamp is the result of a true technological challenge. Encased within a thickness of only 5 mm, the LEDs and lenses are capable of generating an oblique, extremely powerful, and controlled light beam. The patented ultra-flat lens boasts a very high efficiency of 97% and offers illuminance values on the workspace exceeding 1000 lux with high glare protection and reduced flickering.

Le designer

Vincent Van Duysen

Vincent Van Duysen est un architecte et designer belge né à Lokeren en 1962. Diplômé de l'école d'architecture Sint-Lucas de Gand, il travaille à Milan auprès d'Aldo Cibic avant de fonder son agence à Anvers en 1989. Son travail, attentif à la perception sensible de l'espace, couvre l'architecture, l'intérieur et le mobilier. Depuis 2016, il est directeur artistique de Molteni&C. Pour Flos, il dessine la lampe Oblique, à la tête plate et au faisceau LED asymétrique, et pour Zanotta le système de canapés Fedrigo.

La maison

Flos

Flos est fondée en 1962 à Merano par Dino Gavina et Cesare Cassina, avec Arturo Eisenkeil, qui importe des États-Unis une résine plastique projetée, le « cocoon ». Son nom, du latin « fleur », est choisi par Pier Giacomo Castiglioni. Dès 1962, Achille et Pier Giacomo Castiglioni dessinent pour la maison le lampadaire Arco, la lampe Taccia et le lampadaire Toio, avant que Tobia et Afra Scarpa ne rejoignent l'aventure. À partir de 1963, Sergio Gandini dirige l'entreprise, installée à Brescia.
