Palissade stackable chair

Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec built Palissade on a unique principle: a symmetrical geometry, repeated from one piece to the next, which gives the entire collection the same visual language. The chair is its most pared-back form: a tubular steel frame, a seat base, and a backrest made of regularly spaced flat slats. The spacing is not decorative: it allows rainwater to drain and air to circulate, preventing puddles on the seat and accelerating drying. The chair is stackable, which matters when clearing a terrace at the end of service or tidying up a garden before winter. It is available in powder-coated steel, whose oven-baked paint provides a hard, colored layer, or in hot-dip galvanized steel, immersed in a bath of molten zinc: this finish is not painted, it develops a patina and reveals zinc crystals. This is the reason for its higher price and its longevity by the seaside.
