Three shapes, which are also three sizes: the 200 cm octagon, the most compact, for a balcony table; the 240 × 240 cm square, which covers a dining table; the 300 cm hexagon, the largest, for a garden lounge. The pole is adjustable to two height positions. Four graphic, two-tone fabrics: off-white combined with grey, ochre, or burgundy, and green combined with dark green: not all fabrics are available in all shapes; the menu only offers the manufactured combinations.
The fabric and the pole
HAY specifies the fabric as 100% olefin for the grey, ochre, and green variants—olefin is a lightweight polypropylene fiber that dries quickly and is UV-resistant—and 100% acrylic for the three burgundy variants. The pole is made of aluminum and features two heights. The base and cover are sold separately: 35 kg base and anthracite cover.
Terrazza, the terrace according to HAY
Terrazza is the collection of outdoor accessories launched by HAY in the spring of 2026: a parasol, its base and cover, striped cushions, and a tablecloth. HAY presents it as “a versatile collection of outdoor accessories that brings the comfort of the home outside, made of textiles, shade, and soft surfaces to create welcoming outdoor scenes,” in “durable and easy-to-maintain materials.” The pieces are designed to go with HAY garden furniture, Palissade in particular, as well as any other.
The design
The Terrazza collection is not attributed to any external designer: HAY signs it with its own name and its product page carries no author credit. This is a common occurrence with this publisher, which calls on independent designers for part of its catalog and designs the rest itself. What makes the piece here is its intended use: HAY builds it from UV-treated polypropylene fabric on an aluminum pole, for the garden, terrace, and balcony.
