This table produced by Fritz Hansen is the result of a collaboration between Arne Jacobsen, Piet Hein and Bruno Mathsson. The shape of the board is inspired by the work and mathematical calculations of Piet Hein to solve road traffic problems. This shape is the perfect mix between a circle and a rectangle. The table legs were designed by Bruno Mathsson and Arne Jacobsen. The table has been produced in several models which have different leg shapes.

Arne Jacobsen is undoubtedly the most famous Danish designer and architect. He studied architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, graduating in 1927. After working for a while in an architectural firm, he decided to become self-employed. His greatest architectural works are the Bellavista Klampenborg (1930-1934), the SAS Royal hotel in Copenhagen (1958-1960) and St Catherine College in Oxford (1964-1966). The architect is part of the functionalist movement and has strongly influenced it. In terms of design, Arne Jacobsen also ensures that his creations have a utility while using simple and elegant shapes.

Arne Jacobsen had a strong impact on 20th century design and was a pioneer in Scandinavian organic modernism. Even today, Scandinavian design remains marked by its influence.

A Danish icon for 135 years, the story of the publisher Fritz Hansen begins in 1872, when, then a cabinetmaker, Fritz Hansen decided to open his first workshop in Copenhagen and create the company Republic of Fritz Hansen .

He joined forces with his son Christian and specialized in the manufacturing of high-end furniture.

In the 1930s they were the world leader in veneered wood. The 1950s were marked by prestigious collaborations: Hans Wegner (China chair, 1944), Børge Mogensen (Spoke Back sofa, 1945) and of course Arne Jacobsen, who would become Fritz Hansen's main designer during the 1950s, with the Fourmi chair, the Serie 7 chair, the Grand-Prix chair and many other chairs made with the pressed and molded plywood technique developed by Christian Hansen. The creation of icons such as the Egg and Swan armchairs, designed by Arne Jacobsen for the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, helped to further establish the brand's notoriety and prestige.

Fritz Hansen is also recognized for his numerous collaborations with great designers such as Verner Panton and Piet Hein.
